Preserving the Legacy of Pack Burro Racing Through Photography

Pack burro racing is more than a sport—it's a living piece of Colorado and Western mining history. Every race tells a story of determination, partnership, and tradition as runners and their burros follow in the footsteps of the prospectors who once crossed these same mountains.

Pack Burro Racing Photographers is dedicated to preserving those stories through photography. Our volunteer photographers capture the excitement, camaraderie, and unforgettable moments that might otherwise be lost. By building a permanent historical archive, we're helping ensure that today's races, athletes, burros, and communities will be remembered and celebrated for generations to come.  We're preserving the past, documenting the present, and creating the visual history of pack burro racing for future generations.
